Residential Water Heater Program
Objective
The objective of the Residential Water Heater program is to reduce the amount of electricity consumed when heating and storing water for residential consumption.
Eligibility
You must be a Cherryland Electric Cooperative Member.
You must own the dwelling where the water heater will be installed
You must complete required documentation, provide original sales receipt, and allow an employee of Cherryland Electric Cooperative access to the water heater once installed.
Current Program
Cherryland Electric Cooperative is offering a rebate to members who purchase a New Electric Water Heater for installation at a residential site served by the Cooperative that has an Energy Factor of .93 or greater. Members must complete a Member Agreement Form and present an original receipt at our Grawn, MI office. On-site inspection is required by a Cherryland Electric Cooperative employee once installation is completed and prior to payment of rebate.
Cherryland Electric Cooperative will provide members with pipe wrap insulation free of charge. The pipe wrap shall be applied to the hot water pipe exiting the hot water heater for a distance up to 15 feet from the water heater.
Additional rebates available for the installation of low flow shower heads, insulating tank blanket wraps and Low Flow Faucet Aerators.
Rebate
$100.00 for a New Electric Water Heater with and energy factor of .93 or greater
Free Pipe Wrap insulation up to 15 feet
$7.70 for a low flow shower head (less than or equal to 1.75 gallons per minute)
$1.40 for a 1.05 gpm Low Flow Faucet Aerators
$10.00 for a Insulating Tank Blanket wrap rated at R8 or greater

Cherryland Electric Cooperative reserves the right to deny payment of a rebate for a water heater, qualifying or not, for any reason
