With October fast approaching, it’s not too early to mark your calendar for three great evenings of learning at Cherryland Electric Cooperative. In celebration of National Energy Awareness month, Cherryland will host a series of energy management seminars during the month of October:

Thursday, October 1st – Energy Optimization and Net Metering

Get the latest on Cherryland’s Energy Optimization program designed to incentivize our members to reduce their consumption of electricity. If you are planning some energy efficient improvements to your home or business, you might qualify for an energy optimization rebate from Cherryland.

If you are thinking of placing a small wind turbine, solar panels or other renewable generation source, Cherryland will credit you full retail value for any excess generation from qualifying projects. Join us for a discussion of our Net Metering program and find out how you can get started.

Presentations will begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Thursday, October 15th – Bright Ideas Night

Stop in and pick up some free CFL, LED and LEC lights. Learn about the latest trends in residential lighting. Discounts will be available for specialty CFL and LED light bulbs purchased at the seminar.

There will be no formal presentations, just come and go as your schedule permits starting at 4:00 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Thursday, October 29th – Home Energy Self Assessment

If you are looking for ways to save money on your home energy costs but do not know where to start, this seminar is for you. In addition to covering basic home audit topics, we will talk about how Cherryland’s AMI meter technology can assist you in monitoring your electric consumption and potentially help identify opportunities for better energy management.

Special presentations will also cover Cherryland Electric and Members Credit Union’s CEC$aves program and a presentation on the scope and cost of a professional full home energy audit.

Presentations begin at 6:00 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. Three home energy audit kits valued at over $100 will be raffled off that evening. Refreshments will be provided.

All three seminars will be held at Cherryland Electric’s Grawn headquarters located at 5930 US 31 South.
