Cherryland’s Annual Meeting is June 16, 2010
Cherryland Electric Cooperative’s 72nd Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, June 16 at Wuerfel Park in Grawn.
This will mark the third year in a row that the Annual Meeting will take place at the home of the minor league baseball team, the Traverse City Beach Bums. Cherryland serves power to the facility, which is owned by John and Leslye Wuerfel.
“Since we moved the Annual Meeting to Wuerfel Park, our attendance has risen dramatically,” said Cherryland General Manager Tony Anderson.
In 2007, the last year the Annual Meeting was held at its traditional site at Cherryland’s home office in Grawn, attendance was 375. In 2008, the Annual Meeting’s first year at Wuerfel Park, the numbers more than doubled to 825. Last year, more than 1,600 Cherryland members attended the Annual Meeting at the ballpark.
