Cherryland Cares Board Makes Four Awards

The Cherryland Cares board gave out four awards at its September meeting for a total of $9,616.

Catholic Human Services was awarded $4,000 for two students to stay in a host home. The Grand Traverse Area Community Living Corp. received $3,500 for capital improvements to Dickey’s House for disabled adults. The board also gave out a total of $2,116 to individuals toward bills.

The Cherryland Community Cares board uses money from Operation Roundup to help needy organizations in the Grand Traverse area. Operation Roundup is where your Cherryland Electric Cooperative bill is rounded up to the nearest dollar, with the change going to Cherryland Cares. Of the money donated, 100 percent is given back to needy organizations.
